This Brazilian Churrascaria brings a little bit of the flavour of Brazil, where the servers bring and cut the meat at your table, and there is also, possibly the best salad bar on the planet. Bem Brasil on Hanover Street often welcomes the Brazilian footballers who play for Liverpool and Everton, which shows you how authentic and tasty it actually is, and with some good offers and promotions you can eat as much meat as you like for a really good price.

The Vibe

As you walk into the front door off the always way too busy Hanover Street, you immediately walk into calm. The traffic and bus pile-up outside is a nightmare at times, but there is a real laidback feel to proceedings straight away at Bem Brasil, and you have to go up to the second floor to gain access to the restaurant (which makes it even quieter and more secluded). There are large circular tables and booths along the windows for big parties, and smaller tables dotted throughout. They certainly pack in the numbers, without it ever feeling toooooo packed, and the centrepiece is the massive salad bar that is the first thing you see as you enter the dining area. That, and the smell and sight of the Passadores (Brazilian term for waiters) walking round delivering cuts of meat to the table, is incredible. Is there anything better than the smell of cooking meat and the sight of cheesy bread in front of you? No, we didn’t think so. The service is casual, and the food is fantastic, and we guarantee that you’ll have a feed like very few other places in town after sampling this celebration of authentic Brazilian Rodizio.

The Food

The idea behind the Rodizio, which is what the vast majority of diners are here to partake in, is that you can eat as much meat as you want within the time that you have your table, and for the one-off price you pay (it’s extra for drinks and dessert). You are given a little disc that is green on one side and red on the other. When you want the waiters to bring meat to your table, and as they slice the meat you pick it off with the tongs on the table - all you have to do is leave the disc with the green side facing up and they’ll come round. If you fancy a little break, flip it over to red. There are 13 things (sometimes we have been to Bem Brasil and have had little garlic breads brought to the table too!) that they bring round, with new items coming as and when they are cooked. There’s rump steak, chilli chicken, pork sausages, smoked gammon, garlic beef, chicken hearts, lamb, sirloin steak, chicken wrapped in pancetta, we think you get the picture. You can pile the meat up as high as you like on your plate – but the best part for us is the salad bar.

Now, you might think that we are nuts to be showcasing the salad bar at a Rodizio, but believe us, the Bem Brasil salad bar is something special, and we would go there and pay for the salad bar alone. Before you get any meat delivered to your table, head on over and pick up a warm plate. Before you, you’ll find a wide range of Brazilian BBQ staples, loads of salad and vegetables, but also potatoes, little moreish cheesy breads that we could eat forever, stews, and quite possibly the nicest lasagne known to man (we know this is a big shout but go and try it and see if you can tell us otherwise?).

The Price

We could tell you some of the other prices of the main dishes on the menu, but we’re only here for the Rodizio right? If you are dining between 4.30pm and close the full Rodizio price is £27.95, but there are some great prices around that. Before 4.30pm the price is £14.95 in the weekdays, and £19.95 on the weekend. There is also the Happy Monday price of £19.95 from 4pm till close, and the same price between 4pm and 6pm during Happy Hour on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. The Vegetarian prices are £13.95 before 4pm, and £14.95 after 4pm.
