Fogo Brazil is yet another Brazilian rodizio and grill in Liverpool city centre, but we are yet to see a dud. Fogo adds another layer to the Brazilian BBQ experience in Liverpool, with the warmest of welcomes from the staff, and a culinary experience that is exactly that, an experience, rather than just a simple meal that you’ll quickly forget about.

The Vibe

The main takeaway that we’ve had from Fogo Brazil is that it is incredibly friendly. We all have that image of Brazilians as a party people, open and welcoming to all, and ready to make you part of the family and the furniture. Fogo, certainly lives up to that recommendation. Fogo welcome diners to their culinary carnival, and we can’t disagree. You’ll be guided towards the big salad bar to fill your plates (but please don’t fill it too much as you want to leave room for the meat), and like in other Brazilian BBQ restaurants, you’ll be given a card with a green and a red side – just flip it over to red if you don’t want another slice of meat – as the waiting staff

The Food

The quality of the meat that is brought round to your table as it is freshly cooked is just incredible. That constant smell and sound of cooking meat, and the sheer list of options makes us salivate, and actually we’re gonna book a table at Fogo whilst we’re publishing this on the site. It is fresh produce, seasoned to perfection, a cooked to the exacting high standards of Brazilian taste. It is probably easier if we just list all of the things that will be brought direct to your table, where it will be sliced by the waiting staff at your pleasure. What we will say though, is that the parmesan pork is of particular interest to us, pork medallions, covered in parmesan and then grilled. It’s like the crack of Brazilian meats*. The other meats brought to your table include:

  • Cap of Rump
  • Brazilian Sausage
  • Beef Ribs
  • Chicken Hearts
  • Leg of Lamb
  • Smoked Gammon
  • Ribeye Steak
  • Sirloin Steak
  • Chicken Wrapped in Bacon
  • Chilli Chicken Wings

*We have not tried, or do we endorse trying crack – the parmesan pork is just REALLY addictive.

The Price

£12.95 in the day or £22.95 in the evening for the full rodizio experience. All the desserts are under a fiver too (not that we think you’ll have much room left for pudding after getting through all of those cuts of meat!). Considering the style of the restaurant and the quality of the food on offer, this is magnificent value.
