The sister restaurant to The Italian Club just a little further down Bold Street and on the other side of the Road, the Italian Club Fish is the inverse, offering up mainly seafood and fish dishes, with a small selection of meat and vegetarian dishes. The food and service is impeccable from the Scottish Italian family behind the restaurants, a little slice of quality seafood like nowhere else in Liverpool.

The Vibe

The Italian Club Fish manages to recreate that light and easy seaside décor and vibe without it ever feeling too forced or appearing as schtick. Instead, it is always a comfortable and friendly experience when dining here, with the white tables and wicker chairs adding to the informality of it all. It really does feel breezy and like you have stepped into the warmth to be greeted by the smell of fresh cooked seafood, from the fresh sea air outside. It’s marvellous how a good restaurant can transport you to a completely different place and mindset. The staff are always dead friendly and helpful when it comes to questions about the produce, and are a big part of the reason people come back here again and again. We know of a couple who live down South who come to Liverpool once a year and ALWAYS go to The Italian Club Fish for a late lunch.

The Food

All the food on the menu is prepared fresh, adding to that high level of quality that you have come to expect from the Italian Club family. The cooking uses extra virgin olive oil, the freshest vegetables and produce, and the creation of exciting fish stocks, ensuring that everything you eat at Club Fish is light and healthy, and never leaves you feeling like you have overdone it. The TiL family loves seafood, and whenever we visit The Italian Club Fish we’ll dive in and go straight for as big a platter as we can muster. Here, that dish is called the Gran Fritto Misto, which is a mixture of fish and seafood lightly dusted in flour and fried. The platter includes everything that is good about great seafood, such as calamari, salmon, prawns, and whitebait, and is served with chips, tartare sauce, and a lemon wedge. Absolutely incredible. There are loads of items on the menu, but this is the standout for us.

The Price

The Gran Fritto Misto we mention in the food section is priced around the £16 - £17 mark, but it is great value. Most of the main dishes are between £12 and £14, and the side orders £3 - £4. The hot and cold starters are all around the £8 mark, whilst there is an exquisite oyster and scallops section of the menu with prices between £10 and £19 depending on the accompaniments and the quantity you order.
