Cash, Credit Cards (inc American Express)A massive old warehouse just to the North of the city, the team behind the Kazimier have completely knocked it out of the park with this simply incredible multi-purpose venue that can be anything that you want it to be. From plenty of live music, club nights that run long into the next day, summer festivals, theatre, art, studio space and a kitchen, there is just so much to love about this collective just outside of the city.
The Vibe
It is so important that art has a space to flourish. When the devastating news came through that the old Kazimier club was closing down, it was hard to see where the team behind it could go next. They had thrived in delivering not only an excellent space for live music and performance, but also built a collective of artists and performers who worked together to create special moments. With the Invisible Wind Factory, the move down towards the North Docks just outside of Liverpool city centre was a risk, but it has paid off, as somehow, they have managed to go even bigger and better than before. Without the constraints of space, and with a massive warehouse to call home, the Kazimier team can create anything within this multipurpose space.
Every time TiL has been to the Wind Factory on Regent Road, it has had a slightly different layout and configuration. It’s a giant blank canvas for the artistic and creative teams to work on. We’ve been to energetic and exciting gigs in the Sub Station, watched incredibly intricate theatre and performance art in the main hall, got swept up in the excitement of an extravagant Vogue Ball, and lost ourselves for hours on end at one of the many popular club nights that run long into the night. It definitely feels like a special corner of the city, away from the prying eyes of the city centre, and unlikely to have the wrong type of clientele stumble in by accident. Every event that happens at the Wind Factory will have the perfect punters for that specific type of event, because it is a destination venue, one you have to make the effort to travel out to, out amongst the old disused warehouses, and the industrial estate-vibe of the surrounding area. We hope that it manages to retain this aesthetic, even if the proposed Bramley Moore Dock stadium, just down the road, comes to fruition for Everton.
