Cash & All Major Credit CardsAfter closing for a short while and finding a new lease of life in 2019, The Brunch Club is a vibrant part of the relatively new Duke Street scene. It is always packed out, which is always a good sign of the quality of a place, and the extensive brunch menu delivers that much needed mid-morning boost (or any time of day you fancy a big ol’ feed!).

The Vibe
A small area as you walk in where waiting diners can take a comfortable seat before a table becomes available could be a little bigger, but it really sets out the stall that you are entering an establishment that is busy, and knows that what it has to offer is good value. The place has an almost Scandi-feel to it, with plenty of wooden tables, a warm feel to proceedings, and fresh greenery and plants dotted around. It is one big room, with a big window along the front that draws the eyes of passers-by and welcomes you in. They’ve certainly packed in as many tables as they could fit in here, and it might seem a bit too busy to some, with tables close to each other. The turnaround is fast though, without ever suffering from a dip in quality on the food being served. During the summer months there is also a few tables out the front to sit on, and as well as the big tables for larger parties, there are some comfortable single tables dotted around the perimeter of the room.

The Food
Brunch – it is what you would expect from a venue called The Brunch Club, and they do not disappoint. If you are after a lighter plate or bowl to start off your day, you can order the toasted granola or muesli, and then the plates start to become ever-more complex from there up to a full fry up. Chorizo scrambled eggs have that little pop of chorizo, whilst the braised beef brisket hash is all sorts of goodness. The Club Sandwich, pulled pork tacos and the Thai sesame sticky beef salad might not be what you expect on a brunch menu, but they are all glorious additions. The extravagant pancake stacks and more conventional breakfast dishes and sharing platters are delicious and plentiful.

The Price
Most of the brunch items come in at just under a tenner, with the biggest breakfast plate (the fry up) a little bit more expensive at £11. Coffee and tea is all priced between £2.50 and £3 and there is also a range of smoothies at a fiver each.
